Porzingis shines upon return
The Boston Celtics are one win away from the 2024 NBA title. The Celtics withstood a frantic Dallas Mavericks comeback attempt in the fourth quarter of Game 3 to win 107-89 on Friday night in Dallas and take a 3-0 lead in the NBA Finals.
The Mavericks, who trailed by 29 points in the second half, cut the Celtics' lead to six points with less than five minutes remaining in the game. But the Celtics hit enough free throws down the stretch to hold on for the win.
Jayson Tatum led the Celtics with 28 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. Jaylen Brown added 26 points, 7 rebounds and 3 assists. Kristaps Porzingis, who missed the first two games of the series with a calf injury, returned for the Mavericks and had 23 points and 7 rebounds.
The Celtics can clinch the NBA championship with a win in Game 4 on Sunday night in Dallas.
