Houston Astros Slugger Takes Latest Sprint Toward Injury Rehab Assignment
Recovering From Knee Injury, Reeves Returns to Mound
Recovering from a knee injury, Houston Astros utility slugger Jake Meyers is taking the latest step in his injury rehab assignment.
Meyers, 26, has been sidelined since suffering a torn meniscus in his right knee during spring training.
Surgery and Recovery
Meyers underwent surgery to repair the meniscus and has been rehabbing ever since.
He began a rehab assignment with the Astros' Class A affiliate in Fayetteville on June 28.
Impressive Stats
In his first two games with Fayetteville, Meyers went 3-for-8 with two doubles, a home run, and three RBIs.
He also stole a base and drew two walks.
Next Steps
Meyers is expected to play at least five games with Fayetteville before advancing to the Astros' Triple-A affiliate in Sugar Land.
If all goes well, he could be activated from the injured list and rejoin the Astros in mid-July.
